Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
The major attraction of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is gorilla trekking with the majestic mountain gorilla known to inhabit the park. Bwindi is a forest of enormous hardwood trees, giant ferns, tangled undergrowth and hanging vines – the quintessential equatorial jungle. This afromontane forest is one of the richest ecosystems in Africa, and is the only forest that contains chimpanzees and gorillas. Get up close and personal with the planet’s largest pack of mountain gorillas, which makes up more than half the population remaining on Earth. There are no mountain gorillas in captivity– this is your best chance to view these beautiful animals while also giving back to the conservation of the species. Bwindi provides home to over 120 species of mammals, ten of which are primates. Our gorilla trekking adventure will also allow you to hike amongst over 1,000 flowering plants and dance with the 200 types of butterfly.
